One might think that Delaware is a small state and that means it is boring but they would be wrong. Delaware is known as the “Small Wonder” because it is a small and wonderful place to live. Delaware is known for it’s many farms and small towns throughout the state but it’s also home to many beaches because it is located on the East coast. What I love about Delaware is it’s beauty and clean air. I was not born in Delaware, so I’ve experienced various climates. Delaware may seem boring, at times, to the average teenager because of the transportation system but when you travel to bigger cities, you realize that Delaware’s fresh air and quiet environment are valuable commodities.
Living in Delaware means you will live in a small town. In Delaware, there are apartment buildings but they are small. Most families live in houses with back yards and a drive way. You can drive down a back road and smell chicken or cow manure at any time. There are so many farms making it easy to find fresh fruit and vegetables almost anywhere. What would you like about living in a place like this? There is no subway system in the entire state and there is a limited bus system. In Delaware, you need to own a car because the distance between towns can be long. Many teenagers don’t like the fact that they must ask their parents to take them everywhere. They long for the ability to jump on a subway but with all of the public transportation comes a lot of pollution.
Living in Delaware gives you an appreciation for the beautiful natural environment around you. The air is clean and there is not a lot of pollution. Enjoying the peace and quiet is one of the most wonderful things about Delaware. What is your city like? Do you live in a big city? Do you live in a small town? Which do you prefer and why?
